Exploring Changi Point Coastal Walk: A Scenic Stroll with a Few Hiccups

One day, we visited The Coastal Settlement for brunch with my dog. The café has a spacious outdoor seating area that welcomes dogs, making it a great spot for us to enjoy our meal. After lunch, we decided to explore Changi Point Coastal Walk, which was nearby.

We walked for about 5 minutes from the café and found the entrance gate to the ‘Changi Point Boardwalk’ next to Changi Beach Club. There was a notice indicating that some sections were closed, but an alternative route was available. We didn’t mind this and proceeded along the suggested path. The walk was lovely, with a scenic route next to the ocean and shaded areas provided by trees, which kept us cool. We also enjoyed the view of a large rock in the sea.

However, we soon encountered a section under construction that wasn’t covered by the notice. This left us without an alternative route and cut our walk short. We decided to return and explore the Changi Boardwalk’s western end, which was a nice experience despite being a brief walk. Unfortunately, this end was a dead end with no further paths.

Although the walk was shorter than expected and we were disappointed by the construction, I believe Changi Point Coastal Walk will be a wonderful excursion for people once the construction is finished. I plan to revisit in the future. In the meantime, if you’re nearby, you can still enjoy a short, pleasant walk there.

Be sure to bring insect repellent, and as some parts of the route can be quite hot, keep an eye on your dog’s paws.
