Relaxing Dog Walk at Bukit Timah Rail Corridor
Recently, we took a delightful stroll along the Bukit Timah Rail Corridor, a 24 km green passage that provides a continuous wildlife corridor between major green spaces. We set off around 4 PM, enjoying the cool air following a refreshing rain. Our journey began at The Rail Mall, where we captured a photo of the iconic Upper Bukit Timah Truss Bridge.
The walk was serene and cozy, with a pleasant mix of fellow walkers, cyclists, and dog owners. We were lucky to spot a large lizard, monkeys, and playful squirrels along the way. After an hour of exploring, we arrived at the charming former Bukit Timah Railway Station.
Just opposite the old station, we discovered 1932 Story Cafe, which offers a pet-friendly outdoor seating area. The cafe’s setting was enchanting, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced, making for a perfect early dinner.
If you have the time and energy, the Rail Corridor stretches for a full 24 km. Since I was accompanied by my little one, we chose a shorter route, but the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Just a quick tip: be cautious of the old iron rails on the path, as they can become quite hot in sunny weather. The path itself is fine, but it’s always good to watch out for your dog’s comfort. Overall, it was a fantastic outing, and my dog loved every moment of it!
